French ANTIQUE Chunky RUBY 18k GOLD Cabochon Wide Band Ring Tall Belle Epoque

Please see my other offerings and thanks for stopping by! Eye catching French antique cabochon ruby ring in 18k gold. I assume the ruby is synthetic due to the size, cut, clarity and color of it. Beautiful vibrant color that is red in some light and more pink in others with tall domed ring face, it makes quite a statement when worn!

This is an antique piece from the Art Nouveau to Art Deco period that I acquired in France. The ruby is about 10.5mm by 8.5mm and the ring face is about 13mm top to bottom.

It stands 7.5mm off the finger. It weighs 3.5 grams. All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. Surface wear to the gold from over the years when it catches the light due to the smooth mirrored finish there. The top of the stone has a lovely sheen and polish with no chips but it does have a deeper scratch or two and some nicks and flea bites.

Not very visible to the eye but seen more under magnification. The flat back of the stone is flat and smooth but was not highly polished so it has a matte textured finish which can be seen when you look through the stone under light up magnification. But the stone really glows the beautiful vibrant color from within. Very interesting piece from a very special era. I enjoy making my customers happy and matching unique pieces with new homes.
