Antique French Louis Philippe Gold Mirror France circa 1885
A classic antique French Louis Philippe gold leaf mirror from France circa 1885 with the original mirror glass. The wonderfully elegant shape of this French mirror with its rounded shoulders and simple rectangular base is offset with the decorative addition of an outer border featuring a slender rope twist design along with an inner border of a motif known in France as "les perles" adjacent to the antique mirror glass. This frame has a double convex shape with a subtle etched pattern of a climbing vine incised into the surface.
Because the glass is original it has the customary speckles, spots and fogging indicative of antique mirror. Measures 34 1/2" wide x 2" deep x 56 high.
