This is an extremely nice example of a mid-18. It measures 47mm in diameter.
The case is 18K solid gold. The back is engraved with a floral design, and there is more design-work along the edges and on the bezel. The designs are sharp and detailed, and do not show much wear at all. No case dents or damage.
The movement is fire gilt, verge fusee, elliptical balance cock, and fancy square pillars. The movement is signed Gaulard and Rennes. The movement is in excellent condition and runs. The porcelain dial is good, with a winding hole. The dial has some chipping near the winding hole, and some light edge chipping/small hairlines between 5 and 6 oclock. The hands are fabulous and original. I have seldom seen a watch of this age with a case as sharp and nice as this one is.
The entire watch weighs 80.2 grams. A modern key is included. The item "1760s 18K Gold Verge Fusee Pocket Watch Rennes France" is in sale since Monday, September 24, 2018.
